Found in Hendrie Valley

The spores are dispersed by early summer and the fertile pinnae soon disappear, but the remains of the rachis of the fertile fronds can often be found until fall. Plants in relatively dry sites are often small and sterile, hence the attention to the characters of the sterile pinnae in the key.
